“These casters are great! We can push the dollies with one hand now.” — Metal fabrication company, Greensboro, NC
A Greensboro, North Carolina metal fabrication company needed casters for production dollies carrying full bus chassis frames through their facility. Standard casters could not handle the combination of extreme load, long dolly geometry, and the requirement for one-person maneuverability on a concrete production floor.
We specified our 45 Series 45HU80JI6417YY kingpinless swivel casters — 6 per dolly, 18 total across 3 dollies — fitted with 8″ x 2″ ergolastomer solid polyurethane wheels and precision ball bearings, each rated at 2,000 lbs. The kingpinless double ball raceway eliminated the structural failure point common to conventional swivel casters under heavy sustained loads, while the ergolastomer wheel compound made fully loaded dollies manageable by a single worker.
Key specifications for this application:
- 45 Series kingpinless swivel caster — model 45HU80JI6417YY

Floor Lock
The ultimate solution for temporary cart immobilization. A **floor lock** device is mounted independently on the cart frame, not the caster itself. When engaged, it exerts downward pressure, creating solid contact with the floor surface to prevent horizontal cart drift. It is perfect for heavy staging areas and assembly lines where casters need to be active but the cart must be fixed when in use.
